Lux Radio Theater – The Wizard of Oz {Judy Garland}

Lux Radio Theatre presents THE WIZARD OF OZ, starring Judy Garland.

On Christmas Day, December 25, 1950, Judy Garland returned to one of the most beloved roles in motion-picture history, recreating Dorothy for this special radio adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.

More than a decade after the 1939 MGM film became a classic, Garland once again takes listeners down the Yellow Brick Road in this hour-long Lux Radio Theatre presentation, complete with familiar characters, music and the unmistakable magic of Oz. Garland also performs songs from the original film, including “Over the Rainbow.”

Originally broadcast on CBS Radio as part of Lux Radio Theatre, one of the Golden Age’s premier dramatic anthology programs.
