The Burns and Allen Show | George the Butler | B4TV Radio Comedy Theater

B4TV Radio Comedy Theater continues with George Burns and Gracie Allen in another classic comedy entry from The Burns and Allen Show: “George the Butler.”

In this episode, George finds himself tangled up in household comedy, mistaken roles, and Gracie’s beautifully upside-down logic — the kind of logic that makes perfect sense to Gracie and slowly removes years from George’s life. That is comedy architecture, darling.

The Burns and Allen Show remains one of radio’s great situation-comedy showcases, built around the real-life comedy team of George Burns and Gracie Allen. Their radio format blended vaudeville timing, domestic confusion, guest-star energy, music, and Gracie’s unmatched talent for turning one simple idea into a full-scale comic emergency.

Archive listings identify this episode as “George the Butler” with a listed date of November 1, 1945. For B4TV, we’re presenting it as Episode 002 in our Burns and Allen channel run, following the B4TV premiere episode, “Getting Frank Sinatra to Leave Town.”

Presented by B4TV — bringing the Golden Age of Radio back on the air, one perfectly timed wisecrack at a time.
