The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes :: The Vanishing Elephant

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are called into a strange and exotic mystery involving royal danger, suspicious deaths, and one very missing elephant.

In “The Vanishing Elephant,” Holmes investigates a baffling case at an Indian Maharaja’s palace, where a sacred white elephant has disappeared and a trail of fear surrounds those connected to it. What may sound impossible quickly becomes a deadly puzzle of superstition, politics, and carefully hidden motive.

Starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson, this 1945 episode of The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes brings a grand adventure flavor to classic radio mystery — palace intrigue, sacred legend, and Holmes cutting through the fog with that famous razor-sharp logic.
