Burns and Allen :: Getting Frank Sinatra to Leave Town :: B4TV OTR Comedy Legends

B4TV Radio Comedy Theater welcomes George Burns and Gracie Allen with a classic episode of The Burns and Allen Show: “Getting Frank Sinatra to Leave Town.”

In this wonderfully tangled comedy, Gracie turns her attention toward Frank Sinatra — and, naturally, decides the world would be much better organized if Frank simply left town. George tries to keep things under control, which is adorable, because this is Gracie Allen we’re talking about. Control left the building before the first punchline.

Originally aired November 7, 1946, this episode lands right in the heart of Burns and Allen’s successful radio sitcom era, when George and Gracie had perfected their fictionalized husband-and-wife comedy style for radio audiences.

Starring one of radio’s most beloved comedy teams, The Burns and Allen Show remains a masterclass in timing, absurdity, and the fine art of letting Gracie be Gracie while George quietly realizes he is already doomed.

Presented by B4TV — bringing the Golden Age of Radio back on the air, one perfectly timed wisecrack at a time.
